The Colourful Breed
The Doberman Pinscher is considered a medium-sized dog. In is muscular and possesses incredible endurance as well as speed. It was a short, hard coat that can be black, blue, red and fawn. All four accepted colours for this breed have almost identical rust-coloured markings found above each eye, on the muzzle, throat, front of the chest, below the tail and on all four legs and feet. The generally have very deep chest, cropped ears and docked tails.

To Crop Or Not To Crop
The tail of the Dobe is actually fairly long at birth, but after the process of tail docking, individual dogs are left with nothing but stubs. Docking is generally done because originally it would interfere with the breeds work being watch dogs. Like the ears, it allowed the attackers to have something to grab on to. Another good reason to dock the tail is that it is easier on the Dobermans spine. They are deep chested dogs and have long backs. A tail puts added, unneeded force on the vertebrae.
